Northern Star Festival
As the autumn nights grow darker and stars light up, it is with great excitement that we welcome you to the first edition of the Northern Star Festival, a weekend-long feast of music (and some cake) with a Nordic twist!
Based at the Swedish Church of Ulrika Eleonora in Marylebone – truly one of London’s hidden gems! – we start off on Friday night with a spectacular show of music, song and dance which brings together some of the most spellbinding Swedish music of the 18th century, and bids goodbye to the joys of summer, in the shape of a splendid wedding feast. We hope you will join us for a toast or two: skål!
On Saturday, the church will become home to an intimate evening recital in candlelight, perfect for an autumn’s night. We look forward to a unique, private sound world as we explore music from both the Swedish and Prussian courts.
Finally, as part of Sunday’s morning mass, the Northern Star Festival artists join forces with Ulrika Eleonora Choir for a special musical celebration.
This will be a weekend to remember, full of music from many different corners but all pointing towards the Northern Star. We hope you join us on this exciting journey!
